Spotlight – Thurmond Group at KW Smart Realty
Home is where the heart is
From the first home purchase to the last lifetime sale, Thurmond Group at KW Smart Realty has made it their mission to be the realty group of choice in a homebuyer’s journey of obtaining the American Dream.
In 2006, Team Lead Patrick Thurmond launched the Thurmond Group with the promise to give its clients an unparallelled real estate experience so good that they wouldn’t hesitate to refer them first to those they hold both near and dear.
With this in mind, Thurmond Group at KW Smart Realty decided to offer several services, including:
- Complimentary Buyer’s Consultations and Seller’s Consultations
- Staging Consultations
- Home previews and Showings
- Transaction management from Contract to Closing.
- Complimentary Q&A support
“We know how difficult a real estate transaction can be,” Thurmond said. “From trying to figure out affordability of the first home to all the family needs and elements of a family member’s last home, we have the experience and know-how to see our customers through every situation, through every transaction.”
Prior to launching his business, Thurmond spent his time in the corporate world. After working long hours and taking endless business trips, Thurmond decided he had enough. “I knew I had to make a change,” he said. “I had two growing boys who needed me more than the sacrifices I made to the company…”
That change led him to a sales career in real estate. Now, Thurmond boasts over 20 years of industry experience and has been fortunate enough to consult over 800 clients with the sale or purchase of a home.
“I have learned that my career now is really not about selling real estate but about helping others through the pride of home ownership,” Thurmond said.
Thurmond credits his success to the relationships he has built along the way. “Real estate is a business of disciplines; self improvement, taking action, and hard work,” he said. “And lastly, it’s a business of love. If you don’t love people, it isn’t the business for you.”
Thurmond Group at KW Smart Realty held a record year in 2019 with plans to surpass that in 2020. Thurmond’s advice to those looking to start a real estate business is to save six months of living expenses and four months of business expenses. “It’s tough. It’s hard. And it’s worth it,” he said.
These days, Thurmond is happily spending his free time on what’s most important to him – his family.
