Recorded Community Zoom (Online Meeting) on January 24, 2018 with LEDC President, Steve Scruggs. These meetings are designed to be interactive, providing attendees the opportunity to learn from our speakers, and engage and connect with the important issues facing our community today.

The LEDC’s primary role is to help create jobs and capital investment by attracting new companies as well as facilitating the expansion of existing companies in the Lakeland area. On Tuesday, January 16, Steve shared this presentation with the City of Lakeland Commission. The presentation will walk through historical data and details of past projects and the impact those projects have had in the Lakeland area. What are companies looking for when considering expansion projects? What can the City of Lakeland do to be more attractive to more High Skill/High Wage businesses, and/or encourage existing businesses to expand their operations in Lakeland? How do Incentives impact the local economy and why are they relevant today? These questions and more will be addressed in the presentation, and participants of the meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions.
